CE Marking (EN12942: 1998 +A2:2008 TM3) is recognised worldwide and is a mandatory conformity marking for respiratory safety products sold within the European Economic Area. The CE Mark asserts that a manufacturer’s product conforms to the EU legal requirements for health and safety assuring a high level of quality and confidence for protection specification in the product.
Australian/NZ Standard (1716) for Respiratory Respirators asserts that a manufacturer’s product conforms to the Australian/NZ legal requirements for health and safety assuring a high level of quality and confidence for protection specification in the product. These standards have the highest capacity for gas filter testing requirements in the world.
NIOSH approval is issued to a specific and complete respirator assembly after the respirator has been evaluated in the laboratory and found to comply with all of the requirements of Title 42, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 84, and after the manufacturer’s quality plan is determined to be satisfactory.
IECEX (International) and ATEX (European) Certification are the standards for equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres (“EX” areas) to ensure the stringent levels of safety required. EX areas are highly regulated where flammable liquids, vapours, gases or combustible dusts are likely to occur in quantities sufficient to cause a fire or explosion if ignited. The testing and certification is rigorous and requires ongoing quality management auditing of the manufacturing facilities.
IP Rating is an International Standard for protection from dust and water ingress for equipment. The IP Rating 66 ensures the equipment is “dust tight” and protected against heavy seas or powerful jets of water.
ISO 9001: internationally recognised standard for the quality management. Certification is grant only after the company has successfully passed an annual system and facility ISO 9001:2008 audit. The ISO Standards ensures continual improvement to the internal process efficiencies, field surveillance and enhancing customer satisfaction.
The British Safety Industry Federation Registered Safety Supplier Scheme ensures companies displaying the scheme’s logo have signed a declaration that the safety equipment they offer meets the appropriate standards, fully complies with the PPE regulations and is appropriately CE marked. All Registered Safety Suppliers are independently audited to confirm compliance with the scheme’s requirements.
