CleanSpace Technology made stronger in Japan, boosting its Asian presence with the appointment of Dr Nobutaka Saeki as Japanese Regional Sales Director, based in Yokohama he will help drive market expansion along with supporting healthcare customers and market partners.

Dr. Saeki brings more than 15 years in healthcare sales and business development in Japan, with experience in medical technology. Dr Saeki has also led a team for the United Nations following the Indonesian earthquake and tsunami in 2005. He has an Engineering degree (Soka University, Tokyo) and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from in the University of Massachusetts Medical School in the United States. 

The Japanese healthcare system is comprised of over 8,000 hospitals and CleanSpace already has a strong presence in this market with the CleanSpace HALO in use in several hundred facilities. However, the size of the Japanese market combined with strong awareness of the importance of respiratory protection, presents opportunities for further expansion and deployment. 

CleanSpace CEO Dr. Alex Birrell said Dr Saeki would support the sales team grow the adoption of CleanSpace products for high respiratory protection in the Japanese healthcare market. “Dr Saeki brings extensive experience in the Japanese medical devices market and his appointment further strengthens CleanSpace’s commitment to this large and sophisticated healthcare market. While CleanSpace Technology’s sales presence currently spans 36 countries, Asia is recognised as the fastest growing PPE market,” Dr Birrell said.

Australian-made respirators, CleanSpace was already stronger in Japan, seen as the personal protection of choice for the official Japanese medical teams at this year’s Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. CleanSpace HALO respirators were worn across six designated hospitals, by emergency transport teams and by healthcare staff who were treating athletes,” said Dr Birrell.
